Anxiety
Anxiety has become a very common term these days. The explosion of knowledge concerning how the body works has contributed much to this. Unfortunately, despite the great strides in health and medicine, the ability of people to abuse the body has also increased to the same extent. Today, the environment as well as the products sold in the market contributes to a decrease in the body's capacity to handle stress.
The body responds to anxiety in nearly the same way as it responds to dangerous or risky situations. This is something that has been hardwired into our systems as a by-product of our ancestors adapting to their surroundings. The pace of change these days far outstrips that of bygone eras. The body has also become accustomed to soft living and cannot cope with the stresses that these changes bring with them. It is thus not surprising that many are waylaid by conditions such as stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and many more.
Coping with this requires lifestyle change and the development of healthy habits to replace bad ones. The age one starts on this road is irrelevant. It is never too late to take a step in this direction. More can be achieved, though, if this is done earlier.
